Downtown is the most historic neighborhood in New York City, full of fascinating museums, landmark buildings, architectural wonders, and much more. From the Statue of Liberty to the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Lower Manhattan should be at the top of any visitor's itinerary.

The Downtown Alliance helps visitors discover Lower Manhattan's many attractions. In addition to producing a host of handy visitor guides and maps, our efforts include the following:

Visitor Information Kiosks

We believe a personal touch is imperative to strong visitor services. We co-operate two manned visitor kiosks located opposite the entrance to the World Trade Center PATH station (Greenwich and Vesey Streets) and at One World Financial Center. Visitors can stop by for maps, brochures, and friendly, personal guidance from our staff seven days a week.

Heritage Site Markers

Lower Manhattan is filled with dozens of famous monuments and landmarks. To call greater attention to Downtown architectural and historic sites, the Downtown Alliance established 38 Heritage Site Markers of Lower Manhattan's most culturally significant places including Federal Hall, The Woolworth Building and Trinity Church.

Travel Trade Shows

We send a liaison to national and international travel shows to provide detailed information on visiting Lower Manhattan to tour operators and group travel planners. Our representative highlights the latest attractions, distributes thousands of visitor guides and arranges for tours and hotel stays with Downtown destinations. Among the shows we attend each year include, LaCumbre, Pow Wow and American Bus Association.
