Global Positioning System Technology
In an effort to make the Downtown Connection® service even more useful, we have added global positioning system technology (GPS) to each shuttle bus. With this new technology in place, you can track in real time the exact position of Downtown Connection® shuttle, right here on the Web site. To view this map, click here. The Downtown Connection® runs from 10am to 8pm. If you do not see buses on the map, it is most likely because there are no buses running at that time.
SERVICE ADVISORY
Due to ongoing construction, two (2) Chambers Street bound Downtown Connection stops have been temporarily removed until approximately Spring 2010. The affected stops are: one on the north side of Vesey Street between West St and North End Avenue and one on the east side of North End Avenue at Murray Street. Seaport bound service will not be affected. Passengers are advised to check our route map and services advisories posted on the bus for alternate bus stop.
The Alliance for Downtown New York has been informed by construction contractor, Plaza Construction Corporation, that Warren Street between North End Avenue and West Street will be closed to vehicular traffic on the following weekend days:
Saturday March 6 from 7am-10pm and Sunday March 7 from 7am-3pm
Saturday March 13 from 7am-10pm and Sunday March 14 from 7am-3pm
Saturday March 20 from 7am-10pm
There is no modification to sidewalk pedestrian traffic and east and west bound vehicular traffic may still use Chambers Street and Murray. The vehicular traffic flow will be restored to its existing configuration at the end of each of the work day.
The Alliance for Downtown New York’s free shuttle bus service, the Downtown Connection, will relocate the eastbound Warren Street (Whole Foods) bus stop to the North West corner of Warren Street and Greenwich Street during this diversion.
