Alliance for Downtown New York Board of Directors Executive Committee Elects Deutsche Bank’s Alan Scott as New Chairman

The Alliance for Downtown New York’s Executive Committee of the Board of Directors last night unanimously elected Alan Scott, Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, as its new Chairman. Scott is the Alliance’s third Chairman, replacing most recent Chair Dennis Friedrich.

“I’m incredibly excited to see Alan elected as our next Chair,” said Downtown Alliance President Jessica Lappin. “His energy and experience will help lead Lower Manhattan into our next era and I am thrilled to begin working together. Lower Manhattan is more rapidly changing than ever before, and with Alan’s leadership, our Board will see many great accomplishments and milestones in the years ahead.”

“I have proudly served as an Executive Board Member of the Downtown Alliance, and have seen firsthand the energy and excitement around the district’s rebirth,” said Alan Scott, the Alliance’s incoming chair. “This is a brand new era for Lower Manhattan, and is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the Alliance’s chair as we enter this next chapter.”

Alan Scott, who currently serves as Managing Director, Corporate Services, joined Deutsche Bank in 2003 and has overseen significant work on the bank’s real estate portfolio, as well as assignments in project management and strategic planning.

Prior to his work at Deutsche Bank, Scott worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. and American Express. He is a member of the Editorial Board for the CRE Journal and previously served as President of IDRC Europe and Board Member of IDRC USA.

Deutsche Bank has been a long-term occupant of Lower Manhattan and 60 Wall Street. Following 9/11, Deutsche Bank installed a memorial fountain at Manahatta Park, opposite 120 Wall Street.
