New Art Show Brings Fiber Arts and Textiles to the Seaport

For a unique artistic experience, stop by the Seaport for an exhibition of fiber and textile arts, now on view at 207 Front St. through May 12. Curated and organized by BravinLee Programs, “Golden Thread: A Fiber Art Show” features dozens of artists who work with the medium, which has expanded significantly since its humble beginnings. 

Per BravinLee Programs:

Originally associated with domesticity, family tradition and femininity, textile arts have evolved from tapestries and quilts to encompass a whole new exploding art form. This exhibition will include over 60 artists and will showcase the diversity of the medium as well as the diversity of artists working with fiber. The exhibition will include site-specific installations, suspended works, free standing sculpture and more the traditional wall-based.

Artists on view include Elana Herzog, Rachel Hayes, Woolpunk, Tania Alvarez and Sagarika Sundarum, just to name a few. The exhibition is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. and is free to attend; see BravinLee’s website for more information.
