Inspired by artist Brian Tolle’s installation Eureka, paired with the Flushing Remonstrance at Federal Hall, this closing conversation examines the impact of Dutch ideas on American culture and society, and explores the use of art as a vehicle for critical discourse about the past, present and future. In conversation: Brian Tolle, contemporary artist and sculptor of notable public works such as the Irish Hunger Memorial, Miss Brooklyn and Miss New York; and Sophie van Doornmalen, Senior Cultural Officer, Shared Cultural Heritage and Dutch Old Masters, Consulate General of the Netherlands in New York. Moderated by Thomas Ruller, Assistant Commissioner for Archives and New York State Archivist. 26 Wall Street.
