Position TitlePrograms and Partnerships Director, LMHQ

Job Description:

The Downtown Alliance seeks a creative and enthusiastic professional to serve as the Programs and Partnerships Director for LMHQ (Lower Manhattan HQ). LMHQ is a 12,000 sq ft collaborative workspace with meeting and brainstorming rooms, an event venue with regular programming, and a membership community. We are a resource for professionals living and working in New York to collaborate, learn and get things done in Lower Manhattan. LMHQ was opened in 2015 by the Downtown Alliance to raise awareness of the growing digital and creative business community in Lower Manhattan, and to draw new companies to the neighborhood. 

We are looking for a highly creative, communicative and organized individual who will drive the strategy, design and execution of professional development and entrepreneurial programming for LMHQ’s 120-person event space and 30-person Tesla Classroom, in an effort to drive brand awareness for the space, grow our community, and market our membership program. The Program and Partnerships Director will be specifically responsible for strategically designing and producing 3-4 unique professional development events per month, including our popular monthly women’s breakfast series , and building strategic relationships with appropriate partners and sponsors. 

We seek someone who has a vast and growing network of professionals and companies at the forefront of innovation, including tech companies, media companies, advertising agencies, nonprofits and others. You should have a keen interest in the latest happenings and conversations within tech, media, and creative companies, have your finger on the pulse of the cultural zeitgeist, and are enthusiastic about creating relevant in-person events around these topics. 

This role will also be responsible for maintaining existing sponsor and partner relationships. They will ensure contractual responsibilities are met and drive positive relationships and deeper connections with existing partnerships. They will also proactively source potential partners and sponsors, including outreach to aligned brands and organizations. 

We seek an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys meeting and connecting with others and is eager to leave their mark on work that will inspire and inform NYC’s entrepreneurial and creative community. The position will work within a highly collaborative small team. 

This full time position will include some evening hours. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Producing a regular schedule of special events from start to finish 
  • Maintaining key relationships within the business community as it relates to tech and creative industries 
  • Outreach to and securing of talent: speakers, workshop leaders and presenters 
  • Coordinate with Digital Communications + Content Manager for promotion of events, including generating content for ticketing pages (via Eventbrite), pre- and post-event emails, content for website, and social media 
  • Engage with mission-aligned organizations that lead to collaboration to amplify our impact and drive awareness of LMHQ 
  • Forge new relationships and create partnership proposals that lead to sponsorship 
 

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Minimum of three years professional work experience – possibly in event planning, journalism, content creation, PR and/or media 
  • Experience in lead generation and partnerships a plus 
  • Startup/tech/entrepreneurial experience a plus 
  • Ability to think creatively and outside the box; enthusiastic and passionate about the work you do – a “roll up your sleeves” performer

Position TitleOperations Coordinator, LMHQ (Part Time)

Job Description:

The Downtown Alliance seeks a part-time Operations Coordinator in this new role for LMHQ (Lower Manhattan HQ). LMHQ is a 12,000 sq ft collaborative workspace with meeting and brainstorming rooms, an event venue with regular programming, and a membership community. We are a resource for professionals living and working in New York to collaborate, learn and get things done in Lower Manhattan. LMHQ was opened in 2015 by the Downtown Alliance to raise awareness of the growing digital and creative business community in Lower Manhattan, and to draw new companies to the neighborhood. 

 
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented, roll-up-your-sleeves team-player who will ensure the LMHQ facility runs as efficiently and effectively as possible for the clients and members that use the space. Our goal is to ensure everyone has a positive experience at LMHQ and the space performs at its best. We seek someone who is keen to work in a bustling and dynamic membership-based entrepreneurial space. The candidate will work alongside a small and dedicated staff who goes above and beyond for members and programs. 
 
Who you are: You love to troubleshoot and can predict problems before they even happen! You’re a great communicator and have an eye for details and follow-up. You have a love for “getting it done” and get it done well. There is no job too big nor too small for you and you’re the go-to person in your circle to setup the technology or figure out how to make something work.  
 
This role includes the following responsibilities: 
- Manage all external vendors related to operations of space including cleaning company, IT services, A/V service company, building management, furniture supplier, etc 
- Solely responsible for outreach to appropriate vendors when things aren’t operating properly. If something is on the fritz, you get it fixed in a timely manner 
- Schedule part-time Production Assistants (between 3-5 individuals) for event coverage as needed
- Serve as production assistant for events and meetings taking place during scheduled hours. This includes setting up furniture and food and beverage service, working with clients, setting up and overseeing a/v at event, event breakdown, troubleshooting as needed 
- Ordering and maintaining beer and wine stock (liquor license exists on site) for space and for individual events 
- Ordering/maintaining all office supplies 
- Order catering for LMHQ run events 3-4x per month 
 

This is a part-time position of approximately 25 hours per week with a set schedule. Ideally the schedule would begin around noon or 1pm; flexible based upon candidate.
