Alliance For Downtown New York Issues Statement On The Passing Of John Zuccotti

Jessica Lappin, President of the Alliance for Downtown New York, said:  “I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of John Zuccotti. In addition to his myriad other accomplishments in service to our city, he has left an indelible imprint on Lower Manhattan. He ably served as chair of the Downtown Lower Manhattan Association (D-LMA), which was founded by David Rockefeller, and was a vigorous supporter of the area’s revitalization during the 1990s.  After the 9/11 attacks, he became a forceful advocate for the neighborhood’s recovery.  He was also one of the most influential leaders in the city’s real estate community and played a pivotal role in the development of many key projects. We have lost a unique visionary and one-of-a-kind civic champion.  On behalf of the board of directors of the Downtown Alliance, we send our deepest condolences to his family.  He will be deeply missed.”
